MapPuzzle Permanently Lost

OUTSIDE THE HELLGATE - The Associated Gamer's Press has reported that Hellgate map-making service MapPuzzle has filed for bankruptcy. MapPuzzle's stock was delisted by the Gaming Stock Exchange on Friday, shortly after the announcement. The stock had lost 92 percent of its value over the past year.

Town's End buildingTell me about it.

A press release from MapPuzzle blamed the current financial climate as the reason for the company's collapse. "Maps in gameworlds are a discretionary expense and the economic recession has rendered MapPuzzle unable to maintain operating expenses," the statement said. Game analysts have been predicting the end of MapPuzzle since early March when an internal company memo was leaked decrying the "broken business processes" of the organization.

"Why they ever tried to sell maps to randomly-generated content is beyond me," stated game financial analyst Herbert Semens. "I think the only reason they lasted this long was because no one could find there way out to complain," he said.
